In the heart of St. Lucia’s best diving territory, the waters surrounding Anse Chastanet Resort form an award-winning marine reserve that was established in 1995 to protect the island’s coral reefs. The resort’s on-site dive shop right on Anse Chastanet Beach offers both shore and boat dives, along with convenient amenities like on-site gear storage, a scuba shop, three compressors, rental equipment, and an underwater photo and video center.

The Anse Chastanet reef starts just 10 yards beyond the water’s edge, offering easy walk-out access to colorful marine life in 20 to 140 feet of calm, clear water. The reef is home to more than 150 different species of fish, including peacock flounders, octopus, needlefish, and turtles. Boat dives venture farther afield to dramatic walls beneath the Piton Mountains, the wreck of the Lesleen M, and additional reefs. Twice-weekly night dives reveal a different side of the underwater world, from sleeping parrotfish to glowing bioluminescence.

Snorkelers are equally well catered to on beach and offshore snorkeling excursions.

Private snorkel or dive charters can be arranged and include a dedicated divemaster or snorkel guide, concierge dive service, ice water, fresh fruit, and towels. For a more adventurous experience, opt for a Dive Propulsion Vehicle tour and explore the coral reefs propelled by a submersible scooter. Set on four acres of oceanfront property, the resort also features a luxury yacht marina, so there’s always a boat ready to take you out on the water.

Turneffe Island Resort

Belize

From the Sayonara Wreck to the Elbow, Turneffe Island Resort offers incredible accessibility to Belize’s most spectacular scuba diving sites, many of which are just minutes from the resort. You can even go to Jacques Cousteau-level depths and cave dive 130 feet inside Belize’s Great Blue Hole to see stalactites and sharks.

Scuba diving packages are available and include two to three dives per day, accommodations, and meals. Snorkeling packages are also available, with two excursions per day, all meals, and equipment included. In the snorkeling program, you’ll have the option for a Lionfish spearfishing excursion, where you can watch guides hunt the invasive species and perhaps even dine on them later back at the resort.

Dominica

Ideally situated on the waterfront in Dominica’s capital Roseau, Fort Young Hotel & Dive Resort is an all-inclusive experience where the focus is definitely on diving. Dominica has long been one of the best dive destinations in the world, and it’s easy to see why at Fort Young. Guided dives will take you to explore the surrounding waters, where you’ll find pinnacles, sheer walls and drop-offs, colorful reefs, and the volcanic Champagne Reef. Many of the island’s best dive sites are just 10 to 20 minutes away by boat, and there’s even easy shore diving on the house reef directly in front of the resort.

Fort Young’s full-service PADI dive center caters to everyone from first-timers to seasoned pros, with Nitrox available, instructors on staff offering all levels of certification, modern rental gear, and even a dedicated photo room. Beyond diving, the resort has year-round whale watching excursions as well as opportunities to swim with whales at the world’s first sperm whale reserve, a 300-square-mile marine-protected area nearby.

Each room features an outdoor shower that’s perfect for rinsing off the saltwater.

Andros Island is home to more than 175 miles of coral reefs, underwater caves, and abundant marine life, making it a paradise for scuba divers. There are more than 60 dive sites near Small Hope Bay Lodge, including wall dives at the edge of the continental shelf and the 124-mile Andros Barrier Reef, the third-largest barrier reef in the world.

Spice Island Beach Resort

Grenada

With a setting right on the powdery white sand on Grand Anse Beach, snorkeling and diving experiences are right offshore when you stay at the AAA Five Diamond-rated Spice Island Beach Resort. The most popular nearby snorkeling site is the Molinere Beausejour Marine Protected Area, known for its underwater sculpture garden made from concrete and rebar, upon which coral are growing.

The luxury resort is all-inclusive and rates include all-day dining, premium-label drinks, stocked in-room minibars, and a lineup of non-motorized water sports (including free snorkeling gear and boat trips). In addition to snorkeling and scuba diving, you can take out a Hobie Cat for sailing, go paddleboarding, or borrow a kayak.

Anthony’s Key Resort

Honduras

The on-site dive shop at Anthony’s Key Resort has been ranked among the best in the Caribbean for more than 50 years, offering everything from gear rentals (regulators, gauges, BCDs, wetsuits, dive computers) to dive packages that include tanks, weights, and belts. There’s even dockside storage, rinse tanks, and freshwater showers. Courses run the gamut from beginner PADI classes to advanced certifications, including programs for kids, making it a great spot for family trips.

The luxury resort is a laidback collection of waterfront bungalows and hillside hideaways. Most stays include round-trip airport transfers, plus unlimited access to the freshwater pool, kayaks, and stand-up paddleboards. Right from the resort dock, Front Porch Reef offers an easy shore dive where you might spot eels, grouper, octopus, blue tangs, parrotfish, and angelfish. Just a short boat ride away, you can dive the Odyssey and El Aguila wrecks, or opt for the weekly shark dive, where you’ll swim among Caribbean reef sharks. The volunteer coral reef restoration dives are a great way to give back and help ensure the diving here remains spectacular for generations to come.
