All-inclusive resorts are typically located in beautiful places, but it often takes some effort to get a sense of the destination beyond the resort. That’s not the case at adults-only luxury all-inclusive resort Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, which recently debuted a new collection of Signature Experiences created to help guests learn about the cultural heritage, culinary traditions, and natural beauty of Baja California Sur and Mexico.
“We believe luxury travel is most meaningful when it creates a genuine connection to the destination,” says Carlos Torres, general manager of Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos. “These new Signature Experiences were thoughtfully designed to go beyond traditional resort activities, inviting guests to discover the flavors, traditions, artistry, and wellness practices that define Baja California Sur. Whether learning from local artists, exploring Mexico’s rich culinary heritage, or participating in wellness rituals inspired by the peninsula’s natural landscape, each experience offers an authentic sense of place.”
Culinary experiences
If you’re a fan of Mexican cuisine, you’re in luck, as there are a wide range of opportunities to sample the food and drink for which the country is known among the new experiences. During the Salsa Mexican Cooking Class, guests use traditional volcanic stone molcajetes to prepare salsas as they learn about ingredients like chiles and tomatoes that have influenced Mexican cuisine for thousands of years. The Mole Mexican Cooking Class shares the history and symbolism behind one of Mexico’s most iconic dishes as well as the preparation process, then finishes with the chance to enjoy the dish alongside freshly made tortillas and traditional accompaniments.

Mexican wine and spirits
Sip wines from the Valle de Guadalupe region (often called the “Napa of Mexico”) accompanied by artisanal cheeses during the Mexican Wine and Cheese Pairing, explore the cultural significance and flavor profiles of Mexico-grown cacao at an Artisanal Chocolate Tasting, and sample Baja seafood during the Ceviche and Sauvignon Blanc Experience or Oysters and Bubbles Experience. And The Tequila Journey and Mexican Spirits and Agave Tasting both offer the chance to appreciate regional spirits while learning about the history and importance of agave culture.
A sommelier leads a tasting of boutique wines from Valle de Guadalupe during the new Art and Wine Experience, while a local San José del Cabo artist guides guests in painting iconic Baja-inspired scenes. The contrast between desert and sea can make for a striking subject on canvas, while the region’s unique terroir has helped Valle de Guadalupe become an emerging wine destination.

Immersive wellness experiences
The new Baja Tea Ceremony incorporates Damiana and other native botanicals, exploring the plants’ medicinal and spiritual uses in Indigenous communities. The ceremony provides an opportunity to slow down and reconnect with the natural environment and includes precision-brewed infusions and traditional Baja snacks like dates.
Wind down after a busy day with the Before Bed Dry Spa Experience. Guests move through a sequence of specialized dry spa stations, including infrared therapy and relaxation lounges, while enjoying calming snacks and beverages. The thoughtfully curated, restorative evening ritual helps prepare the body and mind for deeper, more restful sleep.

The Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos all-inclusive experience
All of the new Signature Experiences are included in the nightly all-inclusive rate for guests, but advance signup is required for some activities. “By including these experiences as part of our all-inclusive offering, we’re making it easy for guests to immerse themselves in the culture of Los Cabos,” says Torres.
The AAA Five Diamond Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos offers 79 suites, a private beach area, and an infinity pool. Spa treatments are inspired by Mexican culture, wine selections draw heavily from the local region, and two Michelin-Star Chef Sidney Schutte leads the fusion of Japanese flavors and slow grilling over open flames at Loto Robata Grill. Guests of the resort also have full access to the amenities and five restaurants at sister property Grand Velas Los Cabos at no additional charge.
